Windows Forms (WinForms) is the name given to the graphical application programming interface (API) included as a part of Microsoft .NET Framework, providing access to native Microsoft Windows interface elements by wrapping the extant Windows API in managed code. It is a replacement for the earlier complex C++ based Microsoft Foundation Class Library and does not use the Model–View–Controller.
Windows forms are what most users are comfortable with interacting with because they are used within most windows based programs. This familiarity makes using windows forms a great choice for most desktop projects. Windows forms are powerful, stable, and capable of completing just about anything that a customer could imagine. We highly recommend considering Windows forms are your first selection for a custom desktop application.
